DETAIL is a leading international platform for architectural design and construction solutions. Through their platform, they deliver daily, practical information and inspiration to top architects and leading architectural schools worldwide. Recently, they expanded their book series with a new publication focused on Amsterdam. As Detail describes the publication, "The book documents the most exciting projects in Amsterdam's current architectural scene. The contributions complete the picture of a vibrant and forward-looking architectural culture."

The cover shows Amsterdam Central Station's IJ-side, which links the station to the rapidly developing Amsterdam Noord. By raising the new bus station to track level, the ground floor is now reserved for pedestrians and cyclists, while an underground tunnel routes car traffic below. A new slow-traffic tunnel provides a fast, direct link for cyclists and pedestrians between the city, the IJ river, and Amsterdam Noord.

Titled as "a bathtub full of art," the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is also featured in this publication. Completed in 2012, it was the first of several cultural buildings to reorient its main entrance from the street to the Museumplein. The new structure is designed as a distinct volume, connecting to the historic building at only a few key points.

Also featured in this publication is the North/South metro line, which opened in 2018 after years of construction. Spanning nearly 10 kilometres, it connects Amsterdam Noord with the city centre and extends south to the RAI convention centre and Zuid station. Discrete, modest entrances blend seamlessly into the existing streetscape, minimizing the visual impact on the city.

We're happy to see our projects featured in this inspiring publication — and even more thrilled that Amsterdam Central Station made the cover!
