Benthem Crouwel Architect presented their concept design for Museum Arnhem
on Thursday, the 9th of June, at CASA Arnhem
. In total five architecture firms were selected for the renovation and expansion of Museum Arnhem.
The five architecture firms were selected earlier this year from 41 entries. The assignment includes a restoration of the historic building, a new entrance, an extension of 550 square meters and improved public facilities. The museum aims more noticeability in the city and consequently the number of visitors should be increased from 60,000 to 75,000 per year.
Earlier this year, the Municipalty of Arnhem agreed with an investment of eleven million euros for the project. The outcome of the architects' selection is to be expected at the end of this month. The construction of the project will commence in the second half of 2017.
